From the suburbs of Milwaukee to a sun-drenched Florida garden, my journey has been defined by one thing - helping people keep building the lives and businesses they’ve worked so hard to create, even when the page turns unexpectedly.
My story starts in the suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where I grew up with no idea that life would eventually take me over a thousand miles south.
Not long after graduating high school, I met Jeff, who soon became my husband. Shortly thereafter, we made the leap to Florida - that’s where everything really began.
I started working alongside Jeff and his parents in their family-owned publishing business, which served independent garden centers across the country. What began as a single business soon turned into four - a publishing company, two trade shows, and an industry association.
It was a fast-paced, hands-on world, and somewhere along the way, I found myself gravitating toward the financial side of things.
Then came COVID. Like many small businesses, ours was hit hard. The trade shows - our largest ventures - had to shut down, and eventually we made the heartbreaking decision to close all of our operations.
I took a year off to pause, reflect, and figure out what was next. What came next was an unexpected opportunity with our CPA’s firm. After three fulfilling years there, I felt a pull to take what I’d learned and go out on my own, and My Bookkeeping Solution LLC was born.
When I’m not helping clients stay on top of their finances, you’ll probably find me unwinding in my butterfly garden - or spending time with my little crew of animals who definitely keep things interesting.
It’s the perfect balance to the structure and focus of bookkeeping, and it reminds me daily to slow down and enjoy the simple things in life. It’s that same sense of calm, clarity, and balance that I strive to bring to every client relationship.
